What's New?

Update everything !
It's release mania ! We've once again improved the whole I-CubeX tool chain. Download new versions of EditorX, Link, Connect, iCube, oCube - all for both MacOS and Windows. Also update the firmware of your USB-microDig with hardware v7.5. Firmware for older hardware will be updated soon too ! If you're on MacOS, update the firmware with Connect. If you're on Windows, use FirmwareX. While you're at it, make sure your USB drivers are up to date as well. We look forward to having your feedback !

WiDig
Want to make a funky controller for an app on a mobile device? Enter the WiDig. It's like a USB-microDig but with BLE (messages are sent and received as BLE-MIDI) as well as USB capability, so can be connected to iOS and Android, as well as regular operating systems like MacOS and Windows.

It shows up as a MIDI port when communicating via BLE so no fiddling with serial ports. When communicating via USB it does show up as a virtual serial port tho.

More features to be added soon through a firmware update: Pair the WiDig with a BLE-to-MIDI cable adapter and connect directly to your MIDI gear. Communicate via WiFi with OSC messages, and turn the WiDig into a wireless general purpose OSC sensor interface - with web-based configuration interface.

The WiDig is available as part of the WiSystem.

New firmware and Connect !
On 29 march a new build of firmware v7.51 and firmware v7.33 for the USB-microDig (with hardware v7.0 or greater) and firmware v6.33 for the Wi-microDig (with hardware v6.0 or greater) was released. These builds fix a few bugs and add an easier way to upload new firmware, which method is used by a new version of Connect v1.5.1. These new firmware versions address some compatibility issues with our other software and contain improved algorithms for digital sensors. If you're on a Mac, use the firmware uploader in Connect v1.5.1 (click on "Check firmware"). Or run FirmwareX to upgrade your digitizer. Then configure it with EditorX or Link software. If you had uploaded one of these firmware versions before 19 March 2018, please re-upload this new firmware build to your USB-microDig or Wi-microDig. In Connect v1.5.1 you can check the build date of your firmware by clicking on the firmware version - after this firmware update the build date should show "2018-03-29".

The Update III
Today, we're releasing oCube v4.0 for Max (and a slightly updated iCube v4.0 for Max). The oCube external object was one of the first plugins we made back in 1995 and we're happy to announce this important update for it. This version includes some powerful features such as automatic syncing with the connected digitizer and support for pulse width modulated (PWM) actuators and digital I2C actuators. More updating is on the way, check back here soon.

The Update
Well, it's 2018 now and we had it coming of course. With that we mean "The Update". We're sort of half way but wanted to put out a notice that we're working on it, and that some things are already available. First off, Connect v1.5.0 is a major improvement - we really recommend it. There is new firmware for USB-microDigs and Wi-microDigs, with significant improvements too, in particular for digital (I2C) sensors. New versions, now 64-bit, of EditorX and Link have been posted because the older versions are incompatible with MacOS High Sierra - apologies for the delay in addressing this.

New sensors and USB-microDig
Had a nice summer ? We were working on a number of new sensors: BioBeat3D (measure heart BPM as well as blood SpO2 and skin temperature), Orient4D (measure orientation while rotating 36O degrees in all directions, as well as 3D magnetic field strength, acceleration and angular velocity), ReachID (detect RFID tags), ReachCloseD (measure up to 2 m distance with laser precision) and Swipe3D (detect a variety of swipe gestures or measure distance or color). These are all digital (I2C) sensors. To add these to our catalog, the USB-microDig's hardware had to be updated to v7.5 and programmed with a new firmware v7.5. Comes with an updated version of EditorX to configure it all.
