The ‘Garden Delight’ project will
essentially create a ‘room-sized’ musical
instrument that responds to whole body movement. The
instrument will however resemble a forest in which
dancer’s movements provide the physical input. Using
Opcode’s MAX software it is possible to go beyond
the basic ‘trigger and response’ of a
traditional musical instument. Simple inputs can create
complex structures normally found in fully notated
music.
