I use the I-CubeX Digitizer
for many research purposes in my classes. The device is
in constant operation and is pretty much worn out. There
are many uses for it in lessons, pedagogy and therapy.
The 'ultimate MIDI controller' is always in the center of
attention. Schools in Austria and abroad show great
interest in this area, ie. using the I-CubeX in a
curriculum. The I-CubeX is an important device for future
lesson development. I discovered that after many tests in
lessons. I'm enthusiastic about finishing my work in this
field and have already been invited to take part in a
teacher training to instruct teachers.
We have used the I-CubeX in various student
projects, such as:
'Drawing sound
pendulum', which used reed relays as switches to detect
drawing movements on a suspended drawing board for the
generation of sounds.
In another
project students made light guitars with photodiodes and
a lamp mounted on a piece of wood. Interrupting the light
resulted in the onset of a sound.
'Soundmouse' involved sensors
for skin contact, light barriers, and the switches already present in
a regular computer mouse - all hooked up to the I-CubeX Digitizer to generate
sounds. |
