TouchGlove-L v1.7 (obsolete)

A controller for drum machines at your fingertips. A very expressive and natural sensor. Includes 6 pressure sensors per glove - five on the fingertips and one on the palm. Each sensor responds to pressure from approx. 4 KPa (0.04 Kg/cm2, 0.6 PSI) to 981 KPa (10.0 Kg/cm2, 142 PSI) or a force of approx. 0.6 N (60 g, 0.13 lb) to 98 N (10 Kg, 22 lb) that's evenly applied across its active area, a 13 mm (0.51 inch) diameter disk. Tune the TouchGlove using the online manual. Available in left hand (TouchGlove v1.6-L) and right hand (TouchGlove v1.7-R) version.

Application examples

  1. Uses the same sensor as in the TouchMini, so why don't you add a few of those for more sensitivity.
  2. Use as touch controller, eg. for a synthesizer. Check out the Virtual Drum Set that was made with a left-hand and right-hand TouchGlove, or the Invisible Violin by Tim Soo.
  3. Combine with the BendShort, BendMini or BendMicro and create your own custom dataglove (add some punch with a GForce3D-6).
  4. For whole-body expression go bodysuit, capture all your joints' movements and express with all your extremities. Combine with BendMicro, BendMini and BendShort sensors from finger to toe. A GForce3D-3 on each of your feet and hands captures kicks and punches. A Hot will keep you in check of your body temp. Use the TouchGlove on both hands to always be able to touch-control your performance, even while doing a handstand.
  5. A wireless Wi-microSystem is recommended in all cases to operate without tether.

Application notes
  1. Requires extremely careful handling. Do not rush when putting the glove on or off. Do not stretch fabric excessively. Gradually put on or take off glove by sliding each finger in turn a small distance in or out of the glove. Make sure to pull the fabric at the junction between two fingers and not at the tip of the fingers.
  2. Please read the TouchGlove manual.
  3. For calibration information, see the TouchMini
  4. The sensors may show a value even when fingers or palm are not touching anything. This is caused by the fabric being stretched around and/or pushing on the sensor. To resolve this, use our software to adjust the range of the sensor.
