Turn&Spin v1.0 (obsolete)

You like to spin ? Comes with a clever black knob (easily removable). Operates in a multitude of rotational modes: turn it 360 degrees, turn it from 0° to infinity, measure the rotation speed, ... Truly performance oriented. See this videoclip for a demo !

Modes
DIP switch setting Functionality (note: a detent is mechanical resistance that requires you to exert a small force in order to move the knob CW, ie. clockwise or CCW, ie. counter clockwise)
Potentiometer emulation from 0 to 5V (clipping to 0 or 5V) low res (1 1/3 turns = 16 detents full scale). Each detent give steps of 312.5mV or a step of 8 on digitizer with no processing. Turning clockwise will increase voltage until 5V is reached then stays at 5V. Turning counterclockwise will decrease voltage until 0V is reached then stays at 0V.
Potentiometer emulation from 0 to 5V (clipping to 0 or 5V) high res (10 2/3 turns = 128 detents full scale). Each detent give steps of about 39mV or a step of 1 on digitizer with no processing. Turning clockwise will increase voltage until 5V is reached. Turning counterclockwise will decrease voltage until 0V is reached.
Rotary selector emulation (wrap around) 0 to 3.4375V (12 equal level steps) for 1 turn (12 detent). Each detent give steps of 312.5mV or a step of 8 on digitizer with no processing. Turning clockwise will increase voltage until 3.4375V is reached, next step goes back to zero. Turning counterclockwise will decrease voltage until 0V is reached, next step goes back to 3.4375V. Knob position is not absolute (i.e zero is set on power up and independent of knob position).
Rotary selector emulation (wrap around) 0 to 4.648V (120 steps) for 10 turns (120 detent). Each detent give steps of about 39mV or a step of 1 on digitizer with no processing. Turning clockwise will increase voltage until 4.648V is reached, next step goes back to zero. Turning counterclockwise will decrease voltage until 0V is reached, next step goes back to 4.648V. Knob position is not absolute (i.e zero is set on power up and independent of knob position).
Angular speed (low res) +/- centered @ 2.5V. Output voltage is proportional to angular speed in rotation per seconds (RPS) with an offset of 2.5V. Clockwise (CW) angular speed increases the output voltage by 156mV/RPS (step of 4 on dig./RPS) 5V max. Counterclockwise (CCW) angular speed decreases the output voltage by 156mV/RPS (step of 4 on dig./RPS) 0V min. Resolution (minimum speed detection) is 0.25RPS. Angular speed is calculated between each detent.
Angular speed (high res) +/- centered @ 2.5V. Same as low res version but output is 39mV/RPS (step of 1 on digitizer without processing/RPS).
Rotation speed (high res) absolute value with 0V offset. Same as above but CW or CCW give positive result with speed and offset is at 0V. The response is only 7-bit resolution.
Pulse +/- according to direction with 2.5V offset. CW turn will give 12ms pulse to 5V for each detent. CCW turn will give 12ms pulse to 0V for each detent. Maximum RPS is about 3.
