Find out about the level of arousal and/or emotional excitation with this sensor. This sensor measures the GSR (galvanic skin resistance). This measurement method is also used for the infamous lie detector. View the sensor data using our BioEmo software (see below). Use the BioEmo with a wireless WiSystem in all cases to operate conveniently without tether and ensure electrically safe operation (see disclaimer below). See this videoclip for a demo of the BioEmo v1.1 !

Application information

Product BioEmo sensor
Examples

The BioEmo combines perfectly with the BioVolt to capture muscle tension and the BioBeat to capture heartbeat rate, as well as with the Stretch to capture breathing. Become zen and still perform.

Manuals

Using the sensor with the WiSystem not only ensures electrically safe operation (see disclaimer below) but also enables you to use the sensor without being tethered to your computer or MIDI device.

  • Place the electrodes on two fingers and view the signal.
  • Take a deep breath and see the signal go down.
  • You may need to adjust the gain using the potentiometer visible in the pict below.
  • See also the user guide for BioEmo v1.1

Software
  • Our SensePlay software is a very easy way to quickly map sensor data to (sequences of) sounds, images and videos using a drag & drop user interface.
  • Our EditorX software allows you to configure the digitizer to process and map the sensor data of multiple sensors simultaneously.
  • Our Link software allows you to receive the sensor data from the digitizer and use your computer to view, calibrate, record, process and map the sensor data of multiple sensors simultaneously.
  • Our SensorX software allows you to receive the sensor data from the digitizer and use your computer to view, calibrate, record, process and map the data of a single sensor.
  • 07 Dec 2014: BioEmo v1.6 for MacOS and Windows (64bit, contact us for the 32bit version) from source code in Max. For multiple sensors or sensor outputs, run multiple instances of the application, each started in its own folder. Use together with Connect (MacOS / Windows) or BlueMIDI (Windows).
  • 25 Nov 2013: BioEmo v1.5 for MacOS and Windows from source code in Max.
Disclaimer
The BioEmo sensor is to be used only with extreme caution according to the following instructions. It is intended for research purposes only and not intended for use in any clinical medical practices whatsoever.
  1. The BioEmo sensor must only be plugged into a battery powered, wireless I-CubeX digitizer (eg. the WiDig, Wi-microDig or Wi-miniDig) manufactured by Infusion Systems and not any other digitizer.
  2. The BioEmo sensor must only be connected as shown in the diagram on the wireless digitizer.
  3. The wireless digitizer used with the BioEmo sensor must only be powered by a common 9V battery as used in consumer goods or an I-CubeX BatteryPack.
  4. Only I-CubeX sensors may be connected to the wireless digitizer that is used for interfacing the BioEmo.
  5. When using the BioEmo sensor, I-CubeX products may not be connected in any way to the electrical power grid or any other high voltage source.
Any violation of these instructions nullifies any warranty (express or implied) and nullifies any liability or culpability (express or implied) of Infusion Systems Ltd.. Any violation of these instructions can result in electrocution, severe injury, or even death.
