An infra-red LED to invisibly trigger infra-red sensitive devices. Or just use it as another way to light up your christmas tree .... not (use a smartphone camera to see it).

Application examples

  1. Use together with Flash sensor to make an invisible beam that triggers an event when interrupted.
  2. Does not work with remote control receivers of stereo equipment, VCR, TV etc..

Software support
  1. Our EditorX software allows you to configure the digitizer to control multiple actuators simultaneously with on/off as well as PWM signals.
  2. Our Link software allows you to multiple actuators simultaneously with on/off signals.
Application notes
  1. To see the infra-red light emitted by the SeeIR that is invisible to the naked eye, look through a smartphone camera at the seeIR.
  2. Can be controlled with an actuator output using on (5V) / off (0V) signals, as well as pulse width modulated (PWM) signals. Note that since actuator outputs provide less current than the 5V power supply, the LED will not be a bright as when connected with the 5V power supply.
  3. Can be turned on and off directly with a Digitizer output (ie. the power supply pins of inputs 25 - 32).
  4. To turn it on and off with a USB-microDig AUX output, take the pin that's connected to the red wire in the connector out of the slot by slightly depressing the metal lever through the corresponding plastic cutout, then push the lever out again a bit and finally push the pin in the AUX slot such that the lever clicks into place and the pin can't be pushed out. You can see these steps on page 4 and 5 of the HackPlugs v1.0 manual.
  5. To turn it on and off with a Wi-microDig, it must run firmware v6.3. Move the pin of the plug that is connected to the red wire to the position of the pin connected to the white wire, which wire is not connected to anything and can be removed. Use a pointy object, eg. a tiny screw driver or sharp knife to take the pin out of the slot by slightly depressing the metal lever through the cutout for the pin attached to the white wire. Then, after having taken out the pin, push the lever out again a bit so that after placing the pin in the slot between the red and black wires, the lever blocks the pin from coming out of the slot. You can see these steps on page 4 and 5 of the HackPlugs v1.0 manual.
