Control Voltage (CV) anyone ? The CVolt is a DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) that allows you to interface with analog synths. Use one of our sensors to capture gesture and map the data to CV so that you can wave at your rack of analog gear. A digital I2C actuator, that outputs high resolution 12-bit voltages.

Application examples

  1. Control an analog synth's VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) with the CVolt via 0-5V. Setup a ReachCloseD, map it to a CVolt and sweep that VCO with your hand motions.

  1. male 1x4 plug with a row of 4 pins spaced 2.54 mm (0.100 inch)
  2. female 1x4 receptacle with a row of 4 sockets spaced 2.54 mm (0.100 inch), where (viewed from the top and front) the leftmost socket is the output and the rightmost socket is ground (see pict below)
Weight 12 g (0.42 oz) incl. cable
Software support
  • Our EditorX software allows you to configure the digitizer to control multiple actuators simultaneously.
Application notes
  1. Make sure the actuator is plugged into the digitizer with the red wire connected to power. Reversing the plug or applying power with reverse polarity may cause damage to the actuator.
  2. Requires a digitizer with digital (I2C) ports, eg. the WiDig or USB-microDig.
  3. See pict below for instructions how to connect. The yellow wire carries the output voltage, whereas the black wire is connected to ground. 5V is available from the receptacle next to the yellow wire.
  4. The default I2C address is 98 (0x62). Both I2C lines have 4.7 kOhm pull-up resistors.
  5. Our software enables you to use most features. For more technical specs, and to find out how to control the actuator in detail, please consult this datasheet.
