Hi,
i'm planning to trigger max/msp "BANG" event using a infra-red MC550 sensor and the I-CUBEX. JUST BANG no other control or variator.
So here the question;
CAN I PLUG THE 100mA - 24 VDC infrared motion sensor in the 0-5 Volt I-CUBEX input without getting dark smoke over my computer?? and getting at lease signal/non signal information in MAX?
if not, what is the cheaper and easyest way to fix that?
thanks,
Mathieu

Hi Mathieu
The I-cubeX family of digitizers all support 5V and 30mA per sensor, so this one wouldn't work. You would need to design a circuit to go in between the output of your IR sensor and the input of the digitizer to reduce the voltage seen by the digitizer. Also, you would need to power your unit separately.
