Our current project involves controlling
moving lighting instruments (the kind you see in rock
concerts) and music based on the movements of dancers. We
use several sensors that control lighting and sound.
The sensors are placed on the dancer. I
also have hooked up a few pressure â switch type
sensors to the I-CubeX. Theyâre strips like you see
on the inside of a public bus that you push to tell the
driver you want a stop. They work well. Iâve hooked
up a couple different types of rangefinders, and some
weird inductive stuff. But for now I like the bend
sensors.
Several works using this system (or pieces
of it) have been performed for the public at Stanford
University in Palo Alto, California, USA during the 1999 Summer Concert.
