by Nigel Helyer and Jon Drummond
The original "Wireless House", located in HJ Foley Park on Glebe Point Road, Sydney, Australia, was built in 1934 to provide radio broadcasts to the local community. Jon Drummond developed for Nigel Helyer a system to interactively playback archival audio and community oral history material from the original building.
We used 4 I-CubeX MoveOn sensors with a USB-microDig to interface to a PC running Max/MSP. Movement near the Wireless House triggers the playback of the archival audio and community oral history material - hundreds of audio files and growing.
The speaker drivers are attached to the windows.
