Iâve recently been using I-CubeXs in a
workshop. Within just two weeks, people were able to
create their own instrument choosing from a wide variety
of sensors to be connected to an I-CubeX or STEIM
SensorLab. A crash course in Max enabled the composers
who took the course to further map the instrumental
information to musical ideas, and works were performed at
the end of the course.
The "Noise/Stick" is an instrument built in
just two days by composer Adrian Moore from
the University of Sheffield. To make it more portable,
the I-CubeX on a stick is powered by a battery.
