The I-CubeX WiDig enables you to interface sensors and actuators to your computer, wirelessly via Bluetooth or wired via USB. It is designed to obtain data from a wide variety of sensors for measurement and analysis and/or for the control of audiovisual effects and multimedia content, while it can also control devices such as LEDs, relays, small motors, servos, etc.

With the I-CubeX WiDig, translate sensor signals into MIDI messages or control actuators with MIDI messages, once configured with our software. MIDI is transmitted either through a wireless Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection and its associated virtual MIDI port (at 31.25 kb/s and 19 ms latency), or through a USB cable and its associated virtual serial (COM) port (at 115.2 kb/s and 6 ms latency). The WiDig is also capable of wireless communication via WiFi - this feature, using OSC messages, will be made available soon through a firmware update.

Then, send these messages to data analysis/display programs, map them to virtual controllers for use in other software, or, either using the default MIDI encoding or re-mapped as OSC messages using our software, send them to a variety of 3rd party hardware or software devices that perform sound synthesis, graphical animation, video effects, etc..

What you get

The I-CubeX WiSystem includes a WiDig analog to digital encoder with wireless Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) transmitter, a USB microB cable and a USB-Battery. A free Turn sensor and SeeGreen actuator are also included for demo and test purposes. A variety of software is available from our website to apply the WiSystem in your project - please check the WiDig page, and browse our resource page for more solutions. Here's how to get started.

Please note

Please note that to configure the WiDig via USB, you will need a free USB port on your computer. To configure and use the WiDig wirelessly, you will need a Bluetooth interface for your computer that supports Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) v4.0 or higher. Any BLE interface (such the built-in Bluetooth interface of Apple devices) or adapter should work. The WIDIBud automatically connects to the WiDig and appears as a MIDI port. To use the AUX output if the input/output slot is needed for a sensor, get an AuxCable. Want to use the power grid instead of batteries ? Use the USBmicroGlobalAdapter.

If you don't need wireless connectivity, check out the USB-microSystem, which, together with the USB-microMIDICable can also send MIDI messages directly to your MIDI gear. For an even smaller version that is wireless-only but with a longer range, check out the Wi-microSystem. For more inputs and resolution, check out the System.
