ExtendCable-05 v2.2 (obsolete)

This is the kind of cable you want to use if your I-CubeX setup needs to be all over the place. Perfect for sensors with a single output. Comes with two pieces of heatshrink to secure the connectors together (see application notes below). Other versions of this cable are the ExtendCable-01 and ExtendCable-10.

For binary actuators modify the ExtendCable-05 (see application notes below) or use ExtendCableD-01 or ExtendCableD-10. For sensors with two outputs use ExtendCable2D-01 and for sensors with three outputs use ExtendCable3D-01. For digital (I2C) sensors or actuators, use ExtendCableD-01.

If it turns out to work great as trip wire we really recommend you to consider going wireless with the WiSystem.

Application information
  • Use one of the two heatshrink sections to secure the connectors together. Slide the heatshrink section over the female connector of the extension cable. Plug the male connector of the sensor into the female connector of the extension cable. Apply heat evenly to the heatshrink using a heatgun (a hairdryer will also work) to shrink the heatshrink section so that it tightly covers the two connectors (also see the picture on this page). The second heatshrink section is a spare for future use.
  • To use the extension cable for an actuator like the Switch, use a needle to press down on the metal lever of the pin that is connected to the white wire in the both housings of the extension cable such that you can pull out the white wire from the housing. Once the pin is out of the housing, lift up the metal lever again with the needle, place the pin in the slot that was previously unused and confirm the metal lever blocks the pin from sliding out of the slot.
