starter kit mod/help building

hi tech & fellow users,
could a starter kit include the air and push sensors rather than the twist and sense button?
is there anybody in the albany ny area that might be interested in helping me build a simple midi slide flute? i have quadriplegia and would like to mount a push v1.1 sensorn [an octave or 2] in a harmonica rack and play midi notes by having air [on/off] on that sensor. does anyone have any nifty ideas to play music more expressively through headmovement and memory or any suggestions or forsee pitfalls?
