Rapid sensor drift

Post by dmeller »

Hi folks, I'm using a slide and a bend sensor to trigger several hardware events that I am controlling using Labview. The sensors have worked great in the past, with little drift, however today when I ready the analog voltage of the sensors, they quickly drift to -5.25V (and presumably beyond) and are then out of range of my measurement hardware. Any ideas as to what could be causing this dramatic drift? In a matter of 30 seconds, the signal drifts out of range. If not read from for a minute or so, the signal returns to a measurable value and then quickly decays again.

Hi dmeller

Has anything changed in the connection of the device? How exactly is it connected? Strange that you should be getting negative voltages unless you have your power supply connections reversed.
