The Microdig needs a power supply thay doesn't come with the product. A 9 volt dc wall power supply will do the trick. They also have a 9 Volt battery adapter you can buy here.
I had a lot of trouble getting the I-Cube X editor to connect to the microdig to do the initial configuration. I'm on OS X and downloaded a midi monitor to guage if there was a signal coming from the microdig. Finally tech support suggested I try two earlier versions of the I-Cube X editor. I still haven't been able to map the separate midiport but I am getting a midi signal from the microdig. So the warning is that the Icubex editor software is buggy.
