Advance-645 signalling un-presence

I just found the advance-645 sensor and am hoping that it is useful for a project I'm involved with. I want to be able to control a series of video loops with a proximity/presence sensor. The sensor has to be able to signal that both that a person has entered and exited a space. Is the Advance-645 able to signal the un-presence of people?

The configuration I'm considering is the advance-645, a usb-microsystem and either MAX or PD.
