A non-immersive sound and video
installation. Siexos facilitates a form of 'blind audio
interaction' where movement and/or mobile light source
find undetectable interaction inside a darkened walkway.
On entry the interface analyses, interprets and responds
to physical events or changes. It then uses extracted
information (meaning) to generate 'other' events or
changes. The body and/or video projection trigger a range
of audio/visual technologies as light intensity levels
vary depending on two changing video loops and the
complete masking of light reaching five illumination
level 2 transducers. Movement, placement and triggering
of sound layers become relevant musical parameters as
each visitor creates an interactive audio mix. At the
same time, the visitor may experience a crossing of the
senses, "seeing" sounds, "hearing" images, "tasting" the
prevailing winds and as such explore a dynamic and
playful modification refreshed throughout this exchange
of media.
