A sensor for waving at your gear. Leave your fans in awe of your magic majestic gestures. Reaches up to 200 cm (79 inch) distance. Has linear behaviour, resulting in a smooth output that corresponds proportionally with your movement. A digital I2C sensor, that outputs high resolution, low-noise signals. To have a range up to 5.5 meter use the ReachFar.

Requires a USB-microDig running firmware v7.5 or higher.

Software support

  • Our EditorX software allows you to configure the digitizer to process and map the sensor data of multiple sensors simultaneously.

Application notes
  1. Make sure the sensor is plugged into the digitizer with the red wire connected to power. Reversing the plug may cause damage to the sensor.
  2. Requires a USB-microDig running firmware v7.5 or higher.
  3. The default I2C address is 87 (0x57). Both I2C lines have 10 kOhm pull-up resistors.
  4. Our software enables you to use most features of this sensor. In EditorX, use the method parameter to set the sensor to output (method #0) distance with low accuracy 2 m range. (method #1) high accuracy 2 m range, (method #2) low accuracy 1 m range or (method #3) high accuracy 1 m range.
  5. Methods 1 and 3 measure with higher accuracy than methods 0 and 2. To achieve this the measurement takes about 200 ms whereas the lower accuracy methods 0 and 2 take about 20 ms.

  8. For best results when using a high accuracy range method, operate under low ambient light level conditions.
  9. The sensor will not measure the distance of objects placed behind glass (or other transparent surfaces) but the distance to the glass instead.
  10. To extend the cable, use ExtendCableD-01 and/or ExtendCableD-10.
