I have wire a Scalextrics kit (model toy
"slot cars" that race around a track) to the I-CubeX
Digitizer 8 actuator outputs to drive two cars with 4
speeds each. The sensor inputs are wired to microphone
systems, and I use Macromedia Director to take the MIDI
input to drive the cars. Basically, the louder you shout
into your microphone the faster your cars go, in a head
to head race. The microphones are in different places,
some outside the store, some inside, and some around the
world, sending MIDI data live over the internet.
The project went live on March the 26th, 2001 for a
week, and the 37 foot long track was in a store front for
a week as part of the Lab-2 project.
