Measure the expansion of your chest or abdomen and stay with your breath. The BioAirD is a Magnetic3D sensor attached to an elastic velcro band that is easily mounted around your waist or chest. A digital I2C sensor, that outputs calibrated, high resolution, low-noise signals. Use the BioAirD with the wireless WiDig to operate conveniently without being tethered to your computer.

Examples The BioAir combines perfectly with the BioBeat3D or BioBeat, BioEmo, and BioVolt. Become zen and still perform.
  1. Add intensity to your musical performance by tweaking sound with your breathing.
  2. For whole-body expression go bodysuit, capture all your joints' movements and express with all your extremities. Combine with a BendMicro, BendMini and BendShort sensors from finger to toe. Add a GForce3D-6 on your feet and hands to capture kicks and punches. An Orient4D can track the orientation of your head and chest. A Hot will keep you in check of your body temp. Top it all off with a TouchGlove on both hands to always be able to touch-control your performance, even when you're doing a handstand.
Manuals Using the sensor with the WiSystem enables you to use the sensor without being tethered to your computer or MIDI device.
  1. Make sure the sensor is plugged into the digitizer with the red wire connected to power. Reversing the plug may cause damage to the sensor.
  2. Requires a digitizer with digital (I2C) ports, eg. the WiDig, USB-microDig or the Wi-microDig.
  3. Our software enables you to use most features of this sensor. In EditorX, use the method parameter to set the sensor to output (method #0, 10, 20, 30, etc) the magnetic field strength for each of the 3 axes, or to output (method #1..9, 11..19, 21..29, 31..39, etc) the magnitude for the 3 axes combined where the method number scales the magnitude and if the method number is 2, 12, 22, 32, etc the full polar coordinate system values (ie. not only the magnitude but also the two angles) are output. Note that if the magnetic field strength exceeds the output range no value is output - choose a smaller scaling value in that case. This scaling only applies when operating in standalone mode. In host mode there is no scaling and the values are output as floats with 12-bit resolution.
  4. Mount the sensor on the body around the chest or belly using the velcro band. Secure the cable so that it won't move the sensor inadvertently.
  5. To capture chest expansion during breathing, set the method parameter value such that the output is magnetic field strength for the 3 axes combined, ie. method #1..9, 11..19, 21..29, 31..39, etc.
  6. See the BioAirD function description in the firmware documentation for more details about the various methods available in host and standalone mode.
  7. Any magnetic materials or fields in the vicinity of the sensor may distort the sensor output.
  8. To extend the cable, use ExtendCableD-01 and/or ExtendCableD-10.
  9. The sensor comes fitted with a 1x4 plug for use with a WiDig, or a USB-microDig. To use it with a Wi-microDig, use the AdaptCableDto2D or the AdaptCableKit.
  10. The default I2C address is 30 (0x1E). Both I2C lines have 4.7 kOhm pull-up resistors.
